Since 2021, we’ve been the original and only clear kayak tour on the Chaz, offering intimate, small-group experiences perfect for nature lovers and adventurers seeking something real. YOUR CHAZ ADVENTURE — PICK YOUR VIBE
We run tours throughout the day, so you can experience the Chaz however you want:
● Chassahowitzka River Morning Wildlife Tour (April 1st – Nov 14th): Wake up with the Chaz. Paddle before the world does and spot otters, eagles, dolphins, and wading birds when they’re most active. Quiet waters, golden light, pure nature.
● Chassahowitzka River Springs & Swim Tour (April 1st – Nov 14th): A 2-2.5 hour midday paddle through secluded springs with time to swim in iconic locations like Seven Sisters Springs. Water levels determine access to The Crack — when the tide is right, we’ll take you there. When it’s not, we’ll show you equally beautiful hidden spots and springs around the Chaz that most people never find. Either way, you’re swimming in pristine Old Florida water.
● Chassahowitzka River Sunset Glow Tour (April 1st – Oct 31st): Chase the golden hour on the water. Paddle as the light changes, the wildlife settles, and the river transforms. An evening adventure you won’t forget.
● Chassahowitzka River Manatee Season Tour (Nov 15 – Mar 31): Discover and paddle alongside gentle manatees as they gather in the warm Chassahowitzka waters during cooler months. Witness these gentle giants in their natural winter sanctuary.
Manatee and wildlife sightings are natural and always possible — otters, eagles, dolphins, wading birds, and turtles are around every bend. No two tours are ever the same.

↠ CHASSAHOWITZKA RIVER |
CITRUS COUNTY HOMOSASSA FLORIDA ↞
Did You Know? The name Chassahowitzka comes from a Seminole word meaning “land of hanging pumpkins,” believed to reference wild gourds that once grew along the riverbanks. This historic river has been a vital part of the region’s natural and cultural heritage for generations.
The Chassahowitzka River — locals call it “The Chaz” — is what you get when you drive past all the crowded springs and keep going. It’s near Homosassa in Citrus County, less than 2 hours from Orlando and Tampa — close enough for a weekend escape, far enough to feel like you’ve discovered something real. It’s the kind of place that doesn’t show up in most tourist guides. That’s the point.
You get clear spring water, winding waterways lined with trees you can paddle under, and wildlife that actually shows up because there aren’t a hundred kayaks everywhere. Otters, dolphins, eagles, herons, turtles — they all live here. In winter, manatees gather in the warm springs. In summer, it’s just you, your guide, and a river that looks like it did 100 years ago.
Seven Sisters Springs and The Crack are the icons. Both are only reachable by water. Both are worth the paddle. But honestly, the in-between parts — the quiet channels, the hidden springs, the spots nobody knows — those are why people come back.
This is Old Florida. Not the postcard version. The real thing.

↠ Two Rivers. Two Completely Different Adventures. One
Unforgettable Experience. ↞
At Get Up And Go Kayaking – The CHaz, we’re lucky to call two of Florida’s most beautiful waterways home—and each one offers something special.
Crystal River is where it all comes together—clear spring water, incredible wildlife, and access to some of the most iconic springs in Florida, including Three Sisters Springs, Hunter Spring, and Jurassic Spring. It’s the perfect mix of relaxation, scenery, and unforgettable manatee encounters.
Just down the road, the Chassahowitzka River (The Chaz) offers a completely different vibe—more secluded, more raw, and full of hidden gems. You’ll paddle through winding waterways to places like Seven Sisters Springs and The Crack, surrounded by untouched “Old Florida” beauty and wildlife around every turn.
The best part? You don’t have to choose. Most of our guests who experience one river come back for the other—because no two tours are ever the same.

Each of our kayaks are tandem (made for 2 paddlers). However, the seats are removable and if you have an odd number of paddlers in your party we are able to accommodate the kayak as a single.
Keep in mind, the same 250 pound PER person weight limit still applies even if taking a kayak out as a single.
