5 Reasons Why Summer Was Literally Made for Clear Kayaking in The New Smyrna Beach & Daytona Beach area!

Family with clear kayaks by water, kids in life vests, trees in background, sunny day.

Let’s be honest, summer in Florida is incredible, a staple to say the least, but it can also be a lot. Sometimes you just need an escape from the usual touristy spots. If you’re looking for a way to actually enjoy the sweet Florida sunshine without the hassle, our clear kayak adventure in New Smyrna / Daytona is just what you need.

We host day time and sunset tours that are two hours long, and we’re convinced there is no better way to spend the summer days. Here are five reasons why you need to swap the beach towel for a paddle this summer!

1. You get a literal window to an underwater world

Standard kayaks are great, but you’re mostly just looking at the top of the water. Our clear kayaks change the entire game and level up your viewing experience. Because Spruce Creek is a beautifully preserved mangrove estuary, the water is home to a ton of different wildlife and when you look down through your kayak, there’s a chance to see fish, turtles, dolphins, blue crabs, manatees and even more!

2. The wildlife

People always ask us, “Do you actually see manatees and dolphins in the summer?” We absolutely do! The gentle giants of Florida love these calm, winding waters. There is nothing quite like the absolute thrill of a peaceful manatee floating right up your clear kayak to say hello. Plus, Spruce Creek is a bird watcher’s paradise!! Keep your eyes peeled and you’ll spot massive bald eagles, ospreys, and those bright pink roseate spoonbills hanging out in the mangroves.

3. Escape the mainstream crowds (and find a secret sandbar)

Don’t get us wrong, we love New Smyrna’s coastal beaches and surf scene, but sometimes you want a little peace and quiet. Spruce Creek feels like “Old Florida.” Totally secluded, quiet, and untouched. It’s the perfect blend of a relaxing cruise and a mini adventure. Depending on how the tide is when you come out with us, we love to pull up to a hidden local sandbars and let everyone explore the area. It’s the perfect spot to hop out, stretch your legs, wade in the shallow water, and look for unique shells.

4. Golden hour hits different on the water

If you think Florida sunsets are pretty from the shore, wait until you see one reflected perfectly on a glassy calm creek. Our 2 hour sunset tours are peak summer magic. It is hands down the best date night idea near Daytona, or just a core memory unlocked evening for the whole family. You’ve gotta check it out for yourself!

5. Our small groups give that VIP vibe

Ever been on a tour where there are 30 people and you can’t even hear what the guide is saying? Yeah, we hate that too. We cap our guided eco tours at just 10 guests (5 tandem kayaks.) That means when you paddle with guides like Chris or Ebb, you’re not just a number in a crowd you’re hanging out with a local expert! They’ll show you the lead you through beautiful mangrove twists, point out wildlife you’d completely miss on your own, and share cool facts about the area.

Whether you’re a seasoned pro or you’ve never held a paddle in your life, we’ve got you covered with a quick safety and paddling demo before we launch. Summer days fly by fast, and our spots fill up even faster so don’t miss out! We can’t wait to show you our slice of paradise!
