Gilchrist Blue Springs and the Santa Fe River are home to some of Florida’s most diverse wildlife. Out here, you get to see it all up close but always in a safe, respectful way.

During any paddle, you might see mullet jumping next to your kayak, pass turtles sunbathing on the logs and tree branches, notice Red Ludwigia under the kayak, and maybe even catch an egret taking flight over the river. It’s peaceful, it’s real, and it shows how wild and beautiful Florida is. There’s a chance here to experience nature like you never have before.

Being tucked away in the country means you get all of this without the crowds. No city noise. No rush. Just nature doing what nature does.

Our tours are in the perfect spot to explore even more of what makes North Florida special. The lower Santa Fe River alone has 36 named springs, and probably many more that haven’t been mapped yet.

Some of Florida’s top outdoor destinations are right around the corner:

  • Ichetucknee Springs — 20 minutes from the world-famous tube float!
  • Ginnie Springs — a short float or drive away and home to the world-famous cave diving system “The Devil’s Ear”.
  • University of Florida, “UF” — 30 minutes to Gainesville, Florida
  • Poe Springs — also close range, either by driving distance, or paddle the river! It’s a fun afternoon paddle and exercise about 40mins up river from Rum Island County Park!

Whether you want tubing, snorkelling, paddling, swimming holes, or just a perfect day outdoors, you’re closer to all of it here in High Springs, Florida.
