An Adventure That Brings You Closer To Nature!
At Merritt’s Mill Pond, your kayaking experience isn’t just a paddle, it’s a passage into a hidden spring-fed ecosystem that feels like a secret world with limestone bluffs surrounding the springs. Glide over crystal clear waters in a fully transparent kayak and watch as the underwater world comes alive: limestone ledges, cypress roots, fish, turtles, and spring vents.
Your guide is not just there to point you in the right direction, they are your storyteller, interpreting the geology, ecology, and wildlife of this 202 acre oasis. With small groups of up to 10 paddlers, the experience stays intimate, so every question, observation, and moment of awe feels personal.
One of the most magical parts of the tour is paddling above springs such as Shangri La, Twin Caves, and Hole in the Wall, most of the outflow being fed by the Jackson Blue Spring. As you float along, you might spot turtles gliding under your kayak, native fish darting around, and birds perched overhead.

For a truly unique night experience, join the sunset glow tour hosted every other Saturday. LED lights on your clear kayak illuminate the water beneath you as you paddle under the stars, learning about the wildlife you don’t get to see during the day.
When you choose this adventure, you are doing more than seeing a spring you are helping conserve it. A portion of the proceeds supports the Florida Wildlife Corridor Foundation and the Florida Springs Council.
