Beginner’s Guide to Clear Kayaking In New Smyrna Beach! Everything You Need to Know Before You Paddle
If you’ve never paddled with us at Get Up And Go Kayaking New Smyrna Beach, we’re going to give you a run down of what to expect so you’re in the know before you join us at Divito Park, which is just about 20 minutes outside of Daytona Beach!
Once you’re booked and ready to explore with us, you’re going to receive a confirmation email with our meeting location. We’ve got you covered when it comes to the clear kayaks (that’s a given 😉), paddles, life jackets, and your very own tour guide..plus a little surprise once you’re done with the tour!

Our two hour adventure consists of a few stops along the way at a few different sandbars. If it’s high tide, we try to stop at least 1-2 times. When the tide is in our favor, we like to talk to the group and take a vote on how many times the group would like to stop and soak in the views. After all, we’ve got two full hours to explore! We recommend bringing clothes you don’t mind getting wet, or swimsuits, with a towel and a change of clothes for after! You can bring sunglasses, hats, and sunscreen. We just ask that everyone applies their sunscreen away from the clear kayaks to make sure your views remain clear!

One of our favorite parts of the tour includes a paddle through mangroves. If you could look up the word serenity in the dictionary, we’re confident this part of our tour is there. It’s extremely peaceful. We love being able to share this part with our guests because today it’s very rare to have a moment of peace and quiet with the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We LOVE being able to provide this moment for our guests!

While you’re on the water with your guide, ask questions! We love creating human connection. One way we love doing this is by talking about the wildlife within Spruce Creek. It’s home to a variety of herons, osprey, rosette spoonbills, tarpon, redfish, manatees, dolphins, turtles, sharks, you name it! While it’s never guaranteed to spot them, looking for them is just as fun. It allows everyone to share the same goal and create a unique connection for the group!

We highly suggest capturing memories along the way. You can take as many photos as you like and our guide can even take your group’s photo! Just be sure to ask! If you decide to post any online, be sure to tag us so we can like them!
We’re extremely lucky to be able to share the waterway with such amazing wildlife. We can’t wait to show you around!
