Top 5 Things to do During Your Visit to Rainbow Springs

We often get asked about other fun things to do in the Rainbow Springs area so we’ve come up with our top 5 list to help you plan your trip!

  1. Visit Rainbow Springs State Park

Exploring Rainbow Springs State Park is a must do on your next visit! From the Get Up and Go Kayaking Rainbow Springs launch location at KP Hole, the State Park is only a short 10 minute drive up the road. Once you arrive at the State Park, you will need to pay a $2 entrance fee that allows you access to all of the parks facilities. Walking into the park, you will instantly feel engulfed by all of the beautiful and natural surroundings. A few of our top pick activities to choose from include: having a picnic on the lawn, taking a hike, seeing the waterfalls, or taking a swim in the crystal clear waters of the freshwater spring. There is something so peaceful about being surrounded by nature, and embracing the beautiful scenery the Rainbow Springs State Park offers!

2. Camping

In addition to the Rainbow Springs State Park headspring area, the park also offers camping options if you choose! The campground has 60 sites for both RVers and tent campers. Reservations must be made 1 day ahead of arrival and can be made up to 11 months in advance. For more information and booking we recommend visiting the Rainbow Springs State Park website.

3. Top Restaurants

We love when guests ask us “what’s the best place to eat after our tour at Rainbow Springs?”. The team at Rainbow Springs has 3 top pick restaurants in Dunnellon, FL. #1. Swampy’s Bar & Grille – the perfect spot if you are looking for a restaurant outside that has a little bit of everything to eat. Swampy’s sits right along the banks of Rainbow River which gives you the perfect relaxing view while you enjoy a bite to eat. Speaking of right along the river, we also love #2. Blue Gator – if you are looking for seafood we suggest pulling up to this dockside restaurant. It is only a 10 minute drive from our launch location at KP Hole. Last but not least for all of you pizza lovers #3. Valentino’s Pizza & Restaurant – a 3-generation Italian family owned restaurant that lives up to its slogan “Made with Love”, and man do we LOVE it!
