Florida Must Do Activity: Clear Kayak Tour in Crystal River “Three Sisters Springs” (April – October)
Crystal River’s Three Sisters Springs is well known for being home to manatees during the winter months, bringing in people from all over the world to be able to meet them! But, as the days warm up and the manatees begin returning to the Gulf, there is still so much that Three Sisters Springs has to offer to anyone coming to visit after manatee season. There is beautiful, clear water to swim in, all kinds of wildlife to see, and memories to be made! So be sure to check out Get Up and Go’s Three Sisters Springs Tour!
What Can I Expect on The Three Sisters Springs Tour?
After you book your clear kayaking adventure with Get Up and Go at Crystal River, you can take a breath! We’ve got you covered from there. Make sure you are excited for your tour and arrive 15 minutes early so that our incredible eco-guides can get you set up right!
When you arrive to our launch location, Kings Bay Park, you will come meet your new best friend (your guide!) by the water. Here, they will check you and your family in, be able to answer any questions you may have about the tour, and give a safety chat to the tour group. Our top priority is everyone’s safety–so you can have the best day without needing to worry! With everything sorted and ready, your guide will get everyone geared up with their equipment and put out into your unique, 100% see-through kayaks to start your journey to Three Sisters Springs!
Paddling out into Kings Bay keep an eye out for any wildlife! Our guides have keen eyes and know the area like the back of their hands–so they’ll be sure to point out some interesting local creatures too. Crossing the bay, you’ll make your way towards Three Sisters Springs–a beginner-friendly paddle and great light exercise.
Before you know it, the water will start to clear up, and your guide will have brought you to what you’ve been waiting for Three Sisters Springs! Here, they will introduce you to the three separate spring areas that make up the whole. You also have the opportunity to get out of your kayak, with the help of your guide, and enter the gorgeous clear water to cool off after kayaking. Because they are freshwater springs, the water stays at around 72°F all year–making it perfect to enjoy in the Florida heat.
Swim around and enjoy the natural beauty, the fish swimming by, and maybe even see a visiting manatee! Be sure to ask your guide to take any pictures of you and your family so you have memories to bring home with you!
Once you’ve had your swim in the natural springs, your guide will assist you back into your kayak and bring everyone back to the shore. But, before wandering off to your next adventure, be sure to stick around and get your Get Up and Go Crystal River sticker and any photos your guide may have taken for you–for free!
