| Easy Tips to Help Plan Your Next Kayaking Adventure |

We know you are ready to jump into a clear kayak and start exploring! But before you do that, here are 5 tips to help you plan the perfect kayaking adventure.

1. Bring a Change of Clothes and a Towel.

Even if you do not plan to go for a swim on your kayaking trip, there is still a chance of getting wet. As you paddle, water will invariably drip into the boat. If you do not want to drive home in soggy clothes, we recommend bringing a dry change of clothes and a towel.

2. Allow time for sunscreen and bug spray to dry before getting into the kayak.

Sunscreen and bug spray can damage the clear kayak, which will hinder the viewing experience for you and future guests. If you want to use sunscreen and bug spray, please remember to apply before you get into the boats and allow plenty of time for it to dry.

3. Wear sunglasses and a hat.

Water is super reflective and the sun is usually shining in Florida. It is a good idea to wear sunglasses and a hat so that you do not hurt your eyes. You will be so thankful that you don’t have the sun in your eyes blocking the great views.

4. Bring a water bottle.

When kayaking, people often forget to drink water because they are surrounded by water and it tricks their body. Kayaking is a great workout and you do not want to get dehydrated. Bring a water bottle with you into the kayak and drink from it regularly. Please bring a reusable or recyclable water bottle. Styrofoam and glass bottles are prohibited.

5. Don’t bring too much gear.

We know you want to be well prepared, but aside from your water bottle and possibly a camera, there is not much else you should have with you in the kayak. The less gear you have means more visibility through the kayak. Keep a bag with your change of clothes and towel in your car for after the trip.
