Here is a guide to a day well spent in Crystal River!

Start your day off with a clear kayak tour with Get Up and Go Kayaking! During Manatee Season (November 15 – March 31), you can experience manatees in their natural habitat in 100% CLEAR kayaks without disturbing them. You are practically in the water with them! Interested in a quick dip in a natural Florida spring? Check out Hunter Springs Park where you can soak up the sun, take a beautiful nature walk, or snorkel on top of a spring. The whole family is sure to enjoy! Just pay $5 for all day parking and relax!

Next, visit one of our favorite local restaurants for the best food in town right on the water! You have to try the Gator Bites and Coconut Shrimp at Crackers Bar and Grill and the fresh fish at Charlie’s Fish House. One of the best family friendly dinner spots right around the corner in Homosassa, FL is Crump’s Landing. They have the best vibes around and the largest tiki bar ever!

Take a walk through the historic Heritage Village in downtown Crystal River for some unique shopping!

For more natural beauty and history, visit the Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge which was created specifically for the preservation of the West Indian Manatee, and walk the boardwalk around Three Sisters Springs Park.

Want to stay overnight? Crystal River’s local eco-friendly hotel of over 200 acres, with extensive accommodations and family friendly activities is the Plantation Inn. We highly recommend this hotel for an overnight stay and early morning adventure on Kings Bay!
